DEVELOPING: Former Yankee Hideki Irabu commits suicide in L.A.

OK, so the "Fat Toad" - as the late George Steinbrenner called him - never had the career that he should have, but he still made it to the Bigs...

Hideki Irabu, with a career record of 34-35 and an ERA of just over 5 while he played for the Yanks, Expos, and Rangers, was found dead from an apparent suicide in his Los Angeles home Thursday morning.

The troubled pitcher had been arrested twice since 2008, the second being a DUI in 2010.

The method of suicide has not.been released.

More later...
