OSG High: tennessee HS Loses Appeal On "Territory" Argument

((HT: WTVC-TV Chattanooga))

This was one of those "precedent setting" arguments...

Signal Mountain ((TN)) High School was in front of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association ((TSSAA)) arguing that the wins that were in question during their football season- six- shouldn't be touched because of what they termed the definition of "territory."

Running back Tim McClendon played one game last year for a Georgia high school team before injuring his knee and not playing anymore for that particular school.

He went back to Tennessee and played for Signal Mountain while living in the town of Brainerd- outside the Signal Mountain district.

John Madewell has the argument before the decision...

Had this gone in favor of McClendon, regional schools and school districts in public areas would have opened the gates for anyone to live anywhere and play any time...
