Ragin Cajuns win on Buzzer Beater

No, this isn't a basketball story.

It's the story of the University of Lousiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns who won their 1st bowl game since 1944 when Brett Baer barely pushed a 50-yard field goal through the uprights as the clock struck zero in the New Orleans Bowl Saturday night. That sealed the Cajuns 32-30 win over San Diego State.

The win moved the Cajuns to 9-4 on the season, arguably their most successful season ever. 1st year coach Mark Hudspeth helped engineer the turnaround from a 3-9 record in 2010. Quarterback Blaine Gautier was the game MVP, throwing for 470 yards and 3 TD's.

The kick came after Baer had lined up for a 55-yard field goal. However, San Diego State tried to draw the Cajuns into a procedure penalty.

It didn't work. It just moved the kick closer and that probably was the saver, because if you see the highlights. The kick barely made it.

Here's a replay of your game winner: (until its pulled)

KATC-TV takes us to a Lafayette area sports bar where the masses were watching, though apparently, they forgot to use a Nat Sound microphone.

Thanks KATC:
