Ha! West Virginia Does Couch Burning PSA

Okay, this plays into a ton of stereotypes, which makes it pretty damn funny.

The West Virginia University student government association apparently felt it was important to discourage students from burning their couches.

Why?

For those who don't know, it's become somewhat of a tradition on the Morgantown, WVA campus to do just that after a big win...or an occasional loss.

Oh...by the way, it's now a $1000 fine too.

This really doesn't do a lot to enhance West Virginia's reputation of a somewhat rural, backwoods outpost unfortunately. Yeah, sure, we know that kids will be kids and do really stupid things when their school does something good, but the whole couch burning thing isn't stupid, it's just plain weird.
