UK Offers... Wait For It... A 7th Grader

But, by all indications, Jairus Brents is a talented 7th grade football player...
Whatever that means...
((HT: WAVE-TV))

Brents participated in a football camp at the university this past weekend, was paired up with Class of 2014 receivers and held his own. He's also attending camps at Louisville, Vandy, and Western Kentucky this summer.

"It's not a big deal. It's just an offer,"Brents told Jared Shanker of Recruting Nation. "It's a good accomplishment, but I'm focusing on being the best cornerback ever and working hard."

Brents and Kentucky cornerbacks coach Derrick Ansley spoke after the camp...

"He said they watched the film [of the camp] and said I was working really hard and that I stood out, and then he offered me [a scholarship]," Brents said.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time a freaking 7th grader has gotten an offer...

USC and Lane Kiffin offered David Sills a full ride in 2010 when he was in seventh grade, and he accepted the scholarship.

Here's John Boruk's piece on Sills at the time...

Still is still planning on signing with Troy in 2015.
