Pistorius Indicted, Trial Date Set...

((HT: SABC))

Oscar Pistorius was indicted Monday on a charge of murdering his girlfriend- model Reeva Steenkamp from February 14th of this year. Prosecutors maintained in their arguments before a judge that witnesses inside the subdivision heard a woman screaming before the sound of gunshots from inside the house.

Pistorius was in court for the indictment and will also face an added charge of "illegal possession of ammunition" when he goes on trial March 3rd, 2014. The court set March 3rd through 20th as the trial period...

The prosecution believes that the shooting was premeditated as the two argued before she was killed- even as the word "premeditated" was not in their language within the indictment. Pistorius says he killed Steenkamp accidentally thinking she was an intruder trapped in his bathroom.

"Some of the state witnesses heard a woman scream, followed by moments of silence, then heard gunshots and then more screaming," the prosecution said in the 11-page indictment.

If convicted, Pistorius could face life in prison with a minimum of 25 years served before parole.

Here's a bit of SABC's coverage from their morning...

More than 100 people are on the witness list for the prosecution...
