Morning Wrap: Cortland Wins on Game Winning Botched Field Goal

((ht: foxsports.com))

Okay, we can safely say we've never seen a football game end like the Cortland/Ithaca game did on Saturday afternoon.

The Division III Cortland Red Dragons got a 23-20 win over Ithaca on a crazy game winning buzzer beater kind of play.

Trailing 20-17, Cortland tried to tie the game with a field goal attempt with only a few seconds left.

Everyone lined up for the play....except for the holder, Luke Hinton, who didn't know what was happening and frantically ran onto the field while the rest of the Red Dragons team waited.

The ball was snapped, low. Hinton could handle it. But he grabs the ball, and rolls to his left, where edge blocker Jon Mannix was. Mannix had the presence of mind to run towards the end zone.

Hinton, his roommate, threw him the ball, Mannix makes the catch. Game over. Cortland wins and the crowd goes wild and Cortland walks away with the Cortaca jug.

Take a look folks, you may never see a game end like this ever again.
